Downtown Asheville is a rare find – it is a walking downtown area that is full of eclectic boutiques, antique stores, pubs, architectural design that will amaze you and so much more. A very active area that so many people are drawn to because of the European flair that it offers. Montford is one of the oldest historic districts of Asheville. It is within walking distance of downtown Asheville, is known for its B&B’s that line the street beneath the large oaks that overhang Montford Avenue. Beautiful old homes abound that were built by well-known local architects have been renovated to appreciate the original craftsmanship that is so evident in them. Montford Park has its own Amphitheatre where Shakespeare can be heard on most Friday nights in the summer for all who choose to enjoy.
